NEW KNOWLEDGE: In this interesting read, Li and colleagues describe two cases of chronic papillitis who were identified to test positive for the IgLON5 antibody. Both patients had extensive negative testing for other etiologies, but sera from 18 patients with chronic papillitis tested negative for IgLON5 antibodies. The authors argue these findings could expand the clinical phenotype of IgGLON5 disease. Read More
The authors of this study found a 1.35x increase in the prevalence of ICD10 diagnoses of IIH/papilledema between 2015 and 2022 in this national database of 85 million patients with the largest growth in prevalence shown in girls between age 11 and 17. Read More
In this work, several NANOS members show that glaucoma patients often have abnormal MRI signal in the optic nerves and that investigations for alternative optic neuropathies are usually not warranted. The presence of signal changes may also correlate with visual field loss. Read More
