The NANOS room block at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort in Tucson, Arizona, is now SOLD OUT.
If you have reserved a room but your plans have changed, please let us know at meetings@nanosweb.org. This will allow us to make the necessary arrangements to meet our contractual obligations with the hotel. Visit the NANOS meeting page for alternative accommodation options.

Welcome Reception and Awards Ceremony – All are welcome! Reconnect with your NANOS colleagues on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and enjoy some music and great food. The Dr. Ivy Dreizin WIN Leadership Grant, Hoyt Lecture Award, Merit Awards, Lawton Smith Award (JNO), Top NOVEL Contributors will be presented. Guest tickets are available for purchase at $150 and children’s tickets are available for $50 with online registration or onsite at the Registration Desk.
Members in Training Reception – All Students, Residents, and Fellows-in-Training, NANOS Board of Directors, Fellowship Directors, Student Clerkship, and Neurology and Ophthalmology Residency Directors are invited to this reception on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm. This event is a great opportunity to network and connect with NANOS leadership and Fellowship Directors.
Meet the Poster Author: Analytical Studies Poster Reception – Monday, March 17, 2025, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. This is your chance to ask questions and learn more about the analytical studies posters. Light appetizers and one drink ticket are included. Guest tickets are available for purchase for $100 by online registration or onsite.

NEW! Fun Run / Walk - Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, at 6:30 am - 7:30 am. Pre-registration is required. Your meeting registration does not include access to the Fun Run/Walk event. Please be sure to pre-register to participate. All pre-registered participants will receive a special NANOS water bottle to stay hydrated and keep as a souvenir.

NEW KNOWLEDGE: In Neuro-Ophthalmology
This meta-analysis compares visual outcomes of m.11778G>A MT-ND4 LHON patients who are untreated, treated with idebenone or #lenadogene #nolparvovec, finding that there is a gradient of efficacy with gene therapy being superior and both treatments being better than the natural history, based on CRR from nadir and final BCVA. In this invited commentary, Etminan and colleagues summarize the current data landscape on the association between GLP1 receptor agonists and risk of NAION. The authors suggest several future directions to avoid selection bias and other confounders in elucidating this potential ION risk factor. Full Article
